Boys’ Soccer: Jean Fernandez - The junior knocked in two goals, including the go-ahead score in double overtime to carry the Falcons past top-seeded South Fork during the District 13-5A Final.
Boys Wrestling: Sebastian Degennaro - The senior rolled to victory in the 126-pound weight class at the Colby Singletary Memorial tournament. Degennaro earned two wins by fall and three wins via tech, including a 15-0 tech fall triumph over Somerset’s Carlos Sainz in the first-place match.

Our JBHS boys’ wrestling team finished in 6th place out of 40 teams this past weekend at the Colby Memorial tournament held at Palmetto Ridge High School in Naples! Sebastian Degennaro was the Champion at 126. He also was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the tournament. Blake Elder was 2nd, Blake Walker finished in 4th, and Tae Smith was 5th. Great job guys!
Congratulations to the Lady Falcons Weightlifting Team who competed against 33 schools at Regionals this past Saturday. Olivia Gilliard 3rd Traditional; Molly Santiago 4th Olympic; Kendra Thorne 5th Traditional; Kai Valko 5th Traditional & 7th Olympic; Brookelyn McNulty 6th Olympic & Traditional; and Ginger Weiner 8th Traditional. The team will compete at States on Valentine's Day.

Seniors: The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties will be at the Elisabeth Lahti Library on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM to assist students with completing the scholarship application before the February 3rd deadline and answer any questions they might have about our scholarship program. Congratulations to our girls’ basketball team on their win yesterday over TCHS 68-42. The leading scorers were Jayla Brinkley with 16 pts and 8 rebounds, Lizzie Fitzwater with 13 pts, 4 assists, and 4 steals; Dani Bell with 12 pts, and Leona Denaud with 7 pts and 4 rebounds. Their next game is TODAY at HOME - Varsity only - vs LPA @ 6:30. With a record of 15-4 our ladies are SOARing! Come on out tonight to cheer them on!

The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, FL, offers a 9-week hands-on, paid summer internship for select Palm Beach and Martin counties students working with world-class scientists on our campus. The program runs from June 2 to August 1 and is available to rising junior and senior high school students.

Congratulations to the following athletes on their nominations for TCPalm’s Athlete of the Week Award!
Jayla Brinkley - Basketball: The sophomore forward averaged a double-double with 17 points and 10.3 rebounds to help the Falcons win two of three games. Brinkley put up 20 points and 14 rebounds in a loss against Lincoln Park Academy.
Jean Fernandez -Soccer: The junior knocked in four goals in a district quarterfinal victory over Fort Pierce Westwood.
Brooke VanEtten – wrestling: The senior captured first in the 105-pound weight class at the Queen of the Castle tournament. She won two matches by pinfall and another two via technical fall, including a 20-5 tech fall over South Fort Myers’ Ester Rodriguez in the first-place match.
