JBHS Sports News: Congratulations to Sophia Gannascoli for being named 1st team all-area for weightlifting. Also congratulations to Olivia Gilliard and Grace Thomas for receiving an honorable mention. Congratulations to the tennis team who beat South Fork on Wednesday. The boys are now 8-3. Winning courts for the boys were: Court 1: Sebastian Chen. Court 2: Spencer Belville. Court 4: Logan Hazlett. Court 5: Jaron Minsky. Court 1 Doubles: Sebastian Chen and Charlie Kroeze. The Varsity Baseball team won their game last night as well! Congratulations to the JV Flag Football team on their 39-0 win over Forest Hill. The girls are now 6-1 on the season! They will play at Lincoln Park Academy on Monday at 4 pm, and Varsity will play at 5 pm. The boys’ varsity lacrosse team beat Viera last night 11 to 10! Senior Gio Cascione led the way with 4 goals and 1 assist. Junior Connor Ferreira scored 4 goals. Senior Oliver Moore won 10 faceoffs and the freshman goalie made 10 saves. The boys will host King's Academy tomorrow morning here at Falcon Stadium at 11 am. Way to go, Falcon athletes! The JBHS Track team will travel today for their next meet. JBHS Sports News: The JBHS Track & Field Team competed Friday night in South Fork High School's 2nd Invitational of the season. Congratulations to the following top-ranking athletes: Nic Colbert for his 1st place win in the boys 1600 meter/1 mile run and 3200 meters/2-mile run, Justin Cannata for taking 2nd place in the boys 1600 meter/1 mile run and the 3200 meters/2-mile run, Khaliya Hall for placing 3rd in the girls' shot put, Ava Vancour for taking 2nd place in the girls' 3200 meter/2-mile run, Chloe Haley for placing 3rd in the girls 800 meter/half-mile run, and the girls' relay team of Chloe, Natalie, Genevieve, and Ava for finishing 2nd in the 4 x 800-meter relay. Congratulations to the TCPalm All-Area Wrestlers! Wrestler of the Year - Sebastian Degenaro! ATTENTION: all girls who are interested in playing volleyball next season……..We WILL be starting up our open gyms this Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:30. We will then go into the weight room from 4:30 to 5:30. This is completely optional and designed for any girl who is not currently in a spring sport.
