Today's senior in the spotlight is Austin Duchene of Jensen Beach High School!
Austin's very proud mother, Brook Duchene, shares that Austin plans to attend the University of Florida and major in mechanical engineering.
"We are so proud of Austin for the effort and dedication he has put into his academic and athletic career but more importantly, we are proud of his character, which is thanks - in part - to the amazing people who have guided and supported him over the years," Ms. Duchene shares.
In Austin's words - "I am grateful for all of my experiences over the years. Some of my best memories are of field days at J. D. Parker Elementary School, field trips to the Environmental Studies Council Center, being captain of the Varsity football team and playing in the District championship as well as the comeback game. I would like to thank my friends and family for everything, especially my mom, dad and brother. I would not be where I am today without the incredible people at J.D. Parker, who were the foundation of my love of learning. A huge shoutout to Mr. Thurman and Mr. Soviero, whose wisdom, humor guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in my time at JBHS."

Congratulations to our Pathfinder scholarship winners ! Aiden Locke won 1st place in the reach for excellence category and Katie Vitale won 2nd place in the music vocal category. We are so proud of all our Pathfinder Nominees. #ItaGreat2BaFalcon
Tonight we played our Spring Football Game at Jupiter Community High School. The boys were amazing and we came home with a 35 to 0 victory. It's going to be a great 2022 football season. #ItsGreat2BaFalcon.

SPORTS NEWS
Flag football will play in the State Semifinals tonight against Robinson High School. If they win, they will play in the State Championship on Saturday. All the games will be played in Jacksonville. Good luck ladies!
The baseball team will play in the Regional semifinals tomorrow, so be sure to stop by and cheer them on their journey to a state championship.
There will be a boys' soccer meeting for all players interested in trying out next season on Thursday, May 19th at 7:45am and 3:15pm in the gym.
There will be a spring football game in Jupiter tonight at 6:00. Let's go, Falcons!

Congrats to senior Paul Hof-Mahoney on a new PR in discus: 43.20m, beating his previous PR of 41.33…AND QUALIFYING FOR STATE.
Congrats to junior Nic Colbert for QUALIFYING FOR STATE in the 1600m with a new PR 4:29.65
Congratulations to junior Justin Cannata QUALIFYING FOR STATE in the 3200 with a new PR of 9:50.44
Congrats to the boys and girls 4x800m relays (Zoe Gozdz, Chloe Haley, Grace Fenedick, and Ava Vancour; Justin Cannata, Conner Strom, Christian Appadoo, Nic Colbert) on season PRs.
Congrats to senior Natalie Evans on her final PR in discus (also ANOTHER school record!!!) AND in javelin (an event she picked up for the first time a few weeks before districts and then qualified for regionals…Seriously. She's amazing!).

Paul, Nick, and Justin will compete at the state track & field meet Fri May 13th, in Gainesville.
The Softball team received an At Large Bid and the 7th seed for the Regional playoffs. They travel today to take on American Heritage. Wish them luck!
Tonight, the baseball team will be taking on Astronaut high school in their first round of regional playoffs. The game will be here, so plan on coming out to cheer for our boys!

We have achieved record sales of the 2022 yearbook and have sold out. If you would still like your student to preserve their memories of this monumental year of “getting back to normal,” we are compiling a reprint list. Please have your student bring in a check or cash for $120 to the cafeteria during lunch A or B by this Friday, May 13th. This reprint will be available to pick up at the front office this July.

Last week, Governor Ron DeSantis announced that more than 7,500 Florida students earned an entrepreneurship and small business (ESB) certification between July 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022. ESB is the Entrepreneurship and Small Business certification which validates individuals' understanding of core business principles, including the essentials needed to launch and maintain a successful business.
In alignment with this statewide focus on workforce education and development, the Martin County School District prioritized entrepreneurship as part of its career and technical education (CTE) course offerings this school year.

The voter-approved half-mill property tax has funded an extra School Resource Officer (SRO) at each MCSD-operated high school for the last four years.
The Martin County School Board wants to know if you think this should be continued if the half-mill is renewed by voters on August 23, 2022.
