MartinArts

At this year's MartinArts, Tetiana Bilokon was honored with the Marti Award for Best Writing at the Lyric Theatre, alongside a well-deserved $1,000 scholarship. 🎉 Her extraordinary literary talent is undeniable, and this recognition is a testament to her hard work and passion for creativity. ✨

Tetiana’s journey is truly inspiring. She came to us from Ukraine three years ago and has since proven that with determination and imagination, anything is possible. As she shared in her own words:

“It all started when I was a young kid with too much free time on my hands. All my unruly fantasies had to go somewhere, and creative writing was an obvious choice. I had a fellow partner in elementary school, and we’d write stories and illustrate them ourselves, as we planned to become popular novelists in the future.”

Her journey continued with amazing achievements, including winning the Congressional Art Competition in her district, which allowed her to visit the US Capitol, and earning a golden key in the Scholastic Art & Writing contest. She also showcased her talent in the Martin County Juried Art Show.

Tetiana may not pursue a career in art or writing professionally, but as she said:

“I don’t intend to go to an art college, or to make a living from what I create, but art will follow into everything that I create. I am very certain that where there are humans, there will be art.”

We couldn’t agree more! 🌟 Her words and her work will continue to inspire and remind us all of the power of creativity.
