Murray Middle School seventh-grader Julissa (Julie) Alvarez-Lopez has been named the Martin County School District's representative in Florida's 2022-2023 Art in the Capitol competition.
The Art in the Capitol contest is a statewide visual arts competition held annually for all Florida students enrolled in grades 6-8.
Julie's artwork will be given to Representative John Snyder (Dist. 86) and will be displayed in the Florida Capitol during the 2023 legislative session. At the conclusion of the legislative session, Julie's artwork will return to Martin County to be displayed inside the Martin County School Board's meeting room.
