Hello Pinewood Families, Pinewood Elementary wants to help the over 700 families in need by gathering donations the the Elev8Hope organization. We are creating Thanksgiving baskets that will be given to families. Will you help us? Each class will be making a minimum of one basket with the items below. You can send your donation with your child to the school thriugh November 11th. We will also be collecting items on 10/26 during our STEAM Family Night. Good morning Pinewood Family, We loved seeing all of our panthers celebrating Character Counts week. This week we are learning to respect our bodies and minds by making a pledge to be drug free. We will show our commitment by wearing different clothing each day. Parents, tomorrow October 23rd, report cards are available in Focus. We also want to thank the Rotary Club for donating dictionaries for all of our third graders this coming week. This is an amazing gift. 🧡BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH🧡 October is National Bullying Prevention Month, a time specially dedicated to raising awareness about and preventing childhood bullying while advocating for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Please join us next week, on Oct. 18, as we celebrate Unity Day and unite against bullying by wearing orange. The goal of Unity Day is to bring together youth, parents, educators, and community members across the nation to emphasize the message that we are united against bullying! The Martin County School District promotes bullying prevention all year round and has zero tolerance for any form of bullying or harassment. 🪴🛠️PLANTING KNOWLEDGE🛠️🪴 Five Martin County School District plant operators recently ventured to the annual Florida School Plant Management Association (FSPMA) conference to grow their job knowledge and skills. Steve Miller (The Pinewood Elementary), Gilberto Calderon (Bessey Creek Elementary School), Jonathan Sequiera (Crystal Lake Elementary School), Edgardo Rivera (Jensen Beach Elementary School), and Dana Martin (SDO) attended the conference along with our Safety Manager, Mark Cocco. They learned important health and safety updates from the Florida Department of Education and engaged in learning about maintenance and proper groundskeeping. Steve Miller was lucky enough to even participate in the podcast "Beyond Clean with ACE!" We look forward to the knowledge plant operators will be sharing after the conference. ⚠️NATIONWIDE ALERT⚠️ Around this time tomorrow, the Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA and the Federal Communications Commission are planning to test both the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA). The test will occur Wednesday, October 4, at 2:20 p.m. It will be conducted in two parts, with one set to go to cell phones and the other to radio and TV stations. FEMA says the alert will have a unique tone and vibration to make the alert accessible to all recipients. Phones should receive the message only once in the 30 minutes after the test begins on Wednesday. #ALLINMartin👊
