Dear Families, The school district sent out information on Monday to the community about a FREE program called Varsity Tutors. Parents can sign their child up for a variety of courses to remediate or enrich their learning. Options are not simply core subject areas but extend to coding, drawing, and more. To sign up, parents log into their child’s ClassLink using their 4300# and password, then click on the Varsity Tutors app. In the app, parents can review available courses, click on an option, then the dates and times will be displayed. 📆MAKEUP DAY INFORMATION📆 Martin County School District students will NOT be required to make up the days missed due to the recent hurricanes. Fortunately, after a thorough review of the District’s instructional calendar, students will still meet state requirements and complete the academic year without the need to use make-up days at this time. We are committed to supporting the community with ongoing recovery efforts, including through the Education Foundation of Martin County’s relief fund for employees and families, providing free meals for students, and offering credit for last week’s Extended Day services. Link to relief fund: https://bit.ly/3BIZm5K We are humbled by the resilience and cooperation of our incredible community. Thank you for partnering with us in your child's education. We are #MCSDBetterTogether and #MartinStrong! 💙

Hello Pinewood Family, We have been donating every year to this very worthy cause whose idea sprouted from students at PWE many years ago. This organization has helped several of our own families. We feel it is crucial for students to understand the value of giving back to the community that is gives so much to them. We hope you can help us. Many of these baskets will go to our own families that are struggling during the holidays. If you know of someone who can benefit from a basket, please email our school counselor, Mrs. Rivers, at riverad@martinschools.org. Thank you Panthers! Rivers, a riverad@martinschools.org. ¡Gracias Panteras!

🌀EYE ON THE STORM🌀 **Update 2:15 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26: Schools and offices in the Martin County School District will reopen and return to normal operations on Friday, Sept. 27. The District continues to carefully monitor local weather conditions alongside our partners at the Martin County Emergency Management Agency. We appreciate the patience and understanding of our families and employees as we navigated the uncertain weather conditions caused by Hurricane Helene. While we were forecasted to experience frequent high wind speeds, our District was fortunately spared from receiving severe damage. Our thoughts and prayers are with our fellow Floridians as Hurricane Helene continues to strengthen into an extremely powerful storm and head towards the West Coast. It is important for our students to return to class as attendance is essential for their success. We look forward to welcoming everyone back and providing the best education. #ALLINMartin👊
