🐝UN-BEE-LIEVABLE SPELLERS🐝 Our students brought their A-game to the 59th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee! Congratulations again to our champion, Kahlan Hufnagel of J.D. Parker Elementary School, who sealed her victory with the word unison! Congratulations also go to Logan Ferraro of The Pinewood Elementary for earning 3rd place and Nicolas Gillett of Hobe Sound Elementary School for earning 2nd place. Hello Pinewood Family, Last week we were shining like a diamond! Our Panthers competed in the Spelling Bee and were in the top 10 best spellers in Martin County. One of our students placed third in the entire competition! Then, we competed yesterday at South Fork in the track meet. Once again, our Panthers competed with all they had. A special Thank You to Coach Craft for getting them ready for this event. Absences were higher than normal last week. Let's get back on track! Every day counts. Our SAC meeting for February has been cancelled. Please mark your calendar for our next meeting on March 11th. This week we celebrate our amazing school counselor, Mrs. Rivera. She is a valuable part of the PWE team. Nuestros Panthers compitieron en el concurso de ortografía y estuvieron entre los 10 mejores ortográficos del condado de Martin. ¡Uno de nuestros estudiantes quedó tercero en toda la competencia! Luego competimos ayer en South Fork en la competencia de atletismo. Una vez más, nuestros Panthers compitieron con todo lo que tenían. Un agradecimiento especial al entrenador Craft por prepararlos para este evento. Las ausencias fueron más altas de lo normal la semana pasada. ¡Volvamos al camino! Cada día cuenta. 📚CELEBRATE LITERACY WEEK📚 Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida! is almost here! From January 27-31, schools across the Martin County School District will bring this year’s theme to life: “Building Literacy: Constructing the Foundation for Success.” From schoolwide read-aloud sessions and family literacy nights to transforming media centers and writing their own stories for others to read, our schools have something planned for every learner! 📖 The School Board approved a proclamation in partnership with Martin Reads, encouraging everyone to take action and support literacy in our community. Volunteer to read at your local school! New this year: 📕 Martin Reads is hosting a Celebrate Literacy Week Kick-Off event at 10th Street Recreation Center on January 25 (1-4:30 PM)! 🎉CELEBRATING 100 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE🎉 Did you spot the Martin County School District banner in the Stuart #MLKDay parade? 2025 marks a century of educating all students for success in Martin County! It's time to share another MCSD alumni story: Meet Ms. Angie Gilbride, an MCSD alum shaping our legacy as Warfield Elementary School’s Assistant Principal. Her journey began at Palm City Elementary School, continued at Hidden Oaks Middle School and led to her graduation from MCHS in 1999. Angie started working at The Pinewood Elementary while attending college and now proudly leads at Warfield. She’s part of a 3-generation Tiger family—her mom graduated from MCHS, and now her own children carry on the tradition! 🐅 "One of the things that makes MCSD special is the friendships you create and continue well into adulthood," Ms. Gilbride shared. "The memories I have of cheering on Friday nights with my best friends for the Tigers Football team is something I cherish!"
