The Martin County School District is excited about the return of MCSD Math Week for a second year. Math Week 2024 will be held from April 15 to April 19.
During Math Week, students and staff celebrate math in style with dress-up themes while learning about various local careers that use math. Students also compete in standards-aligned Daily Math Challenges against students in their grade level from across the District.
Each day of Math Week will focus on a different strand from Florida’s B.E.S.T. mathematics standards, such as number sense and operations, data analysis and probability, etc. Students competing in the Daily Math Challenges can win a special prize at the end of the week. Teachers can also take part and compete in these challenges.
Students will also be able to watch short interviews with people in the local workforce who share how they use math daily. Each day will highlight three to four different careers.
