Spectrum Academy and the Stuart Police Department exemplify what it means to be partners in education! Earlier today, students, staff and families enjoyed a delicious lunch hosted by SPD and our very own Food & Nutrition Services Department. Students in attendance were recognized for their third-quarter P.R.I.D.E. accomplishments and commitment to their studies. We are so grateful to the men and women of law enforcement who serve as mentors, protectors and role models for our students!

Our School Social Service Workers are essential members of Team MCSD - they assist children, families, faculty and staff in creating a healthy and positive learning environment for all. They work tirelessly to identify and provide services to students (and their families) who face serious barriers to success, including poverty, disabilities, abuse, addiction and the loss of loved ones. We appreciate their professionalism, compassion and commitment to our students, families and schools!

📚CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY📚
As our celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth continues, we spotlight two brothers who were educational pioneers in Martin County, Charles E. and Robert G. Murray. Charles Murray founded the Stuart Training School in 1926 - this was the first high school for Black students in the county. He remained principal until 1939 when his brother, Robert, took over. Stuart Training School eventually became Spectrum Academy and Murray Middle School was named for the brothers.
