Florida's sea turtle and hatchling season runs from March 1st through October 31st and this year, the SMS Library is hosting a big box of science activities that help us understand how our lights can affect the sea turtle nests on our beaches. The lessons and materials in this box were provided by Inwater Research Group in an effort to help us understand how important our beaches are to sea turtles. If you are lucky enough to see a sea turtle or their nest, please remember not to touch the turtles or nests, keep it dark on the beach at night and pick up your trash.
