She went to the University of Florida volleyball camp and met Coach Mary Wise and all the amazing UF volleyball coaches!

Jensen Beach High School incoming freshman Parker Woods went on an amazing adventure and attended the National Flight Academy on a full scholarship!
Parker lived in a multi-story, 102,000-square-foot facility for six days, experiencing theme-park-style thrills surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators, and virtual reality games that ignite imagination and encourage learning.

Citrus Grove Elementary School students Julian and Mateo enjoyed their summer break, splitting time between Florida and New Jersey!
They ventured into the ocean in Florida, learned about different animal species at the Turtle Back Zoo and tested the slightly colder water of the beaches in New Jersey!

Attention MCSD families: All school and District offices will be closed the morning of Friday, August 4, while staff attends the Superintendent's Back-to-School Kickoff.

🐾FRIENDLY SUMMER VISIT🐾
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office visited Willoughby Learning Center for a K-9 Corrections Officer demonstration in June. The students attending the summer program enjoyed meeting Deputy Jenkins and his K-9 Officer Remi, as well as Deputy Pope and her K-9 Officer Patches. The best part is they got to give some pet scratches!

Felix A. Williams Elementary student Anthony had a busy and exciting summer staying local!
If he wasn't visiting his grandmother, he was learning all about the U.S. Coast Guard and spending time at the different Martin County Fire Rescue fire stations!

Landon saw the gorgeous mountain views of East Tennessee while visiting the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and learned all about marine life at SeaWorld!

Jensen Beach Elementary School student Monroe traveled all the way to the Grand Canyon National Park for her summer adventure!
Did you know the Grand Canyon National Park is larger than the entire state of Rhode Island? The Park is a massive 1,904 square miles, while Rhode Island is around 1,212 square miles!

"Ariella got her very own Martin County Library System library card to check out books she wants to read over the summer, "proud mom Rachelle shared. "She even earned a free pass to Sailfish Splash Waterpark for completing the library’s summer reading challenge."

The Berkley family--Ms. Berkley at Felix A. Williams Elementary, Mr. Berkley at Stuart Middle School and their daughter Ryah, a student at Felix A. Williams Elementary--have had a summer full of exciting educational adventures!
"Our family has been on a six-week camping trip across America, studying geography, history, geology, biology and even P.E. when visiting and exploring 11 national parks," the family shared. "Ryah has earned her Junior Ranger badge at Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks. She has hiked the Zion Narrows, been off-roading in the Utah desert to see petroglyphs and slot canyons and hiked to the Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park."
As teachers, they encourage all parents to take advantage of the "Every Kid Outdoors" pass, which gives the whole family free admission to federal parks for fourth graders!

During the summer, Hannah Alterman and Crystal Hallee, enthusiastic math teachers from the Martin County School District and Palm City Elementary School, joined fellow math enthusiasts in participating in the B.E.S.T. Math Standards Professional Learning Event, organized by The Florida Department of Education.
Mathematics educators from surrounding counties came together for detailed training on the content and implementation of the Florida B.E.S.T. Mathematics Standards.
