🌸GROWING STRONG🌸 "Not only are the kids growing, blossoming, and moving into the next school year, but the butterfly garden is too. From wildflowers to rare flowers that only bloom once a year, it is that time and they are all opening up to show their beauty. Here are some pics of flowers from the garden," Hobe Sound Elementary gardener, John W, shared. Students are growing and blossoming in their own unique way, each as marvelous and full of life as the flowers they are surrounded by, like these beautiful blooming flowers at Hobe Sound Elementary School! #ALLINMartin👊

🐢FULL STEAM AHEAD🐢 During the #MartinLearns Professional Development days on Tuesday and Wednesday, some of the District's science teachers went to the one-of-a-kind Environmental Studies Center to go full STEAM ahead. Teachers learned how to incorporate Scientific Investigations (Nature of Science) and the Engineering Design Process into their classrooms. They talked about the importance of taking students outside to study from their surroundings. Several guest speakers helped with the lessons, such as the Everglades Foundation, which inspired our educators to be champions for our schools in Everglades Literacy, and the Guy Harvey Foundation, which incorporated art into science. The Inwater Research Group also came to the ESC and gave teachers ideas to integrate lessons about our flippers friends, like Coral! Headwaters Science Institute taught about fostering curiosity in the classroom and working through a problem to discover a solution. Of course, when visiting the ESC, teachers had to get on the River Scout for some fun and education on the water! Come August, our science teachers will have so many new tools in their toolboxes! #ALLINMartin👊

💚MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS💚 During the School Board meeting on May 16, the School Board signed a proclamation recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month. Awareness is the first step. As a District, we take several steps to bring awareness of and support students with their mental well-being. Thanks to Martin County voters who approved the continuation of the millage referendum in 2022, the Martin County School District can provide even more support to students through additional Mental Health Programs. #ALLINMartin👊

She held leadership positions in many of them as well. She founded the National English Honor Society chapter at Jensen Beach High School and served as the president, was elected as the president of the Math Honor Society, served as recording secretary and then Vice President of the National Honor Society, and previously held the position of treasurer for the Spanish Honor Society. She holds a deep appreciation for all of the teachers that made her the person she is today. When I asked her who she would like to specifically recognize, she replied that it would be impossible for her to choose just a few!" Kate plans to attend the University of Florida and major in Microbiology and Cell Science on a Pre-Med track. 🎉Congratulations, Kate! 🎉 We are so proud of you! #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud
