🎓 CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE 🎓 A Martin County High School senior has been named a recipient of the National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarship! The National Merit Scholarship Program is a renowned academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. This year’s competition began in October 2020 when high school juniors took the PSAT/NMSQT, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. Last fall, the highest-scoring participants in each state, representing less than one percent of our nation’s high school seniors, were named Semifinalists on a state-representational basis. From this group, some 15,000 students met the very high academic standards and other requirements to advance to the Finalist level of competition. Approximately 7,500 Finalists have earned the “Merit Scholar” title and accompanying scholarships this school year. Congratulations to the following National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarship winner from the Martin County School District: 🎓Martin County High School Joseph Semrai, Probable Career Field: Pharmaceutical Science
