🎉CELEBRATING AN OUTSTANDING FIRST YEAR🎉 Superintendent John D. Millay celebrated his one-year workaversary with the Martin County School District today! Dr. Millay enjoyed cupcakes with his leadership team and a visit with our outstanding school bus operators to mark the occasion. "It has been a great year. Mrs. Christia Li Roberts (District 1) will serve as the School Board Chair and Mr. Tony Anderson (District 4) will serve as the School Board Vice Chair. #ALLINMartin👊

🎩HATS OFF TO OUR STUDENTS🎩 Students in Ms. Nolan's class at Pinewood Elementary School recently completed a service project rooted in kindness. Thirty-five hand-knitted hats are currently en route to New York to be distributed to those in need during the holiday season. "It has been a wonderful experience doing this project with your children," Ms. Nolan shared in a message to parents. "They enthusiastically embraced the idea of service to others, they learned to knit, they practiced their Spanish while knitting and the hats they produced were amazing." Kudos to Ms. Nolan and her students for going #ALLINMartin👊 and bringing kindness to life this holiday season!

⛵SAILING TOWARD SUCCESS⛵ Students enrolled in the District's Martin SAILS (Students Achieving Independent Living Skills) program participated in the dedication of a new SAILS classroom in partnership with the The Hope Center for Autism last week. Martin SAILS is a transition program that offers eligible students the opportunity to receive specialized instruction in independent living, employability skills and social communication skills. MCSD and The Hope Center for Autism send a huge thank you to the Lichtenberger family for their generous contribution that has helped to make this program possible. #ALLINMartin👊

🍎EDUCATING ALL STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS🍎 Our Office of Purchasing, Warehousing, Reprographics & Property Control has had the pleasure of mentoring and providing on-the-job training to two amazing students - Ethan and Katie - as part of the Project SEARCH program this school year. Operated locally by our Exceptional Student Education Department, Project SEARCH is a one-year transition program for students with disabilities who are 18-21 years of age and who have deferred or are in the process of deferring their standard high school diploma and also meet the eligibility requirements for Vocational Rehabilitation's Supported Employment Program. Each day, student interns report to their host business to learn employability skills. Students participate in three internships/experiences during the year. In their classes, they define their career goals and plan necessary steps to achieve those goals. Staff recently presented Ethan and Katie with personalized nameplates and notepads to thank them for their excellent work this semester. Both students were thrilled with the professional recognition and look forward to transitioning to their new work assignments within the District. #ALLINMartin👊

Parker Elementary School, 1010 SE 10th Street, Stuart, FL 34996 November 18 - 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. - Warfield Elementary School, 15260 SW 150th Street, Indiantown, FL 34956 November 19 - 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. - Port Salerno Elementary School, 3260 SE Lionel Terrace, Stuart, FL 34997 Children aged 17 and under must have a parent/legal guardian present with them to obtain a vaccination.
