That means this year, we are celebrating the 236th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution! Did you know that in 1956, President Dwight D. Hurricane Idalia is rapidly approaching the west coast of Florida and is expected to bring powerful winds and storm surge as it approaches Category 3 strength. While Martin County is not currently operating under any storm-related watches or warnings, our area is expected to experience heavy rains and wind gusts from the storm. Any time severe weather has the potential to impact our area, the Martin County School District works closely with national, state, and county management officials, including the Martin County Emergency Operations Center, to determine how operations may be impacted. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our students, employees, and families. We will continue to monitor the path of the storm and will provide updates as needed through our mass notification (callout/text) system, website and social media channels. We encourage families and employees to make necessary preparations that will help ensure their safety during severe weather conditions, such as reviewing emergency plans and stocking up on essential supplies. We encourage you to take advantage of the Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which began this past weekend. It lasts until Friday, September 8. We appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we continue to monitor local weather conditions.

🐢🌊EXPLORING A GEM🌊🐢 Visits to the one-of-a-kind Environmental Studies Center aren't field trips; they are field experiences! Students were so excited to be back at one of Martin County School District's gems to learn and become scientists for the day! ESC teachers were thrilled to have students back exploring and learning more about the environment that surrounds them. 🍽️SCHOOL LUNCH INFO🍽️ The Martin County School District will cover the costs of meals for all students for the first two days of school (August 10th and 11th) for the schools NOT listed in the photos. After August 11, the regular price for breakfast for all students is $1.50. Lunch for grades K-5 is $1.85, and for grades 6-12 is $2.10. The District will cover the cost of meals for students who apply and qualify for reduced-price meals. All students attending the school sites participating in the Community Eligibility Provisions will receive free breakfasts and lunches with no income restrictions.
