The Martin County School District was well-represented at the Florida Music Education Association's 2022-2023 All-State Conference. Being selected to perform at this level is a tremendous honor for our student musicians - they perform select pieces of music before a panel of judges during the Conference. In some cases, they also have to take a 50-question musical theory test. Students prepare for more than a year to perform. The boys’ Varsity lacrosse team beat Wellington last night 13 to 8 to improve to 2&1.
Sophomore Sean Allen had 5 goals and 3 assists.
Sophomore Hudson Wilfong had 3 goals and 3 assists.
Senior Layton Mannon and Junior Connor Ferreira each had 2 goals.
Senior Gio Cascione contributed a goal as well.
Senior Olive Moore won 15 faceoffs and Freshman goalie Paolo Smith made 15 saves last night.

The JBHS Track & Field team competed in the MCHS Tiger Invitational Friday night, This was the first track meet of the season. Congratulations

Good news for college-bound athletes:
As of January 2023, standardized test scores are optional for all student-athletes who initially enroll full-time on or after August 1, 2023.
Among other requirements, college-bound student-athletes planning to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school are still required to have a 2.3 (DI)/2.2 (DII) grade point average in 16 NCAA-approved core-course units and provide proof of high school graduation.
Attention students, we are continuing the Aerospace Technologies program at Spectrum Academy. Aerospace technology is a high-demand industry that produces aircraft, guided missiles, space vehicles, aircraft engines, propulsion units, and related parts. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstrating the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes, and systems in business and industry.

As of January 2023, standardized test scores are optional for all student-athletes who initially enroll full-time on or after August 1, 2023.
Among other requirements, college-bound student-athletes planning to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school are still required to have a 2.3 (DI)/2.2 (DII) grade point average in 16 NCAA-approved core-course units and provide proof of high school graduation.
Attention students, we are continuing the Aerospace Technologies program at Spectrum Academy. Aerospace technology is a high-demand industry that produces aircraft, guided missiles, space vehicles, aircraft engines, propulsion units, and related parts. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstrating the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes, and systems in business and industry.

All athletes must provide a current HIGH SCHOOL physical on the first day of clinics. These are different than middle school forms. All athletes must turn in the tryout packet which includes contact information, teacher recommendations, and a copy of their report card on the first day of clinics.
All team members will receive and be required to turn in signed copies of the season handbook prior to the first practice.

The girls' wrestling team went to Wellington last night for district championships. Brooke VanEtten placed first in her weight class and Skyla Warriner placed second. Brooke became the first Jensen Beach women's wrestling district champion.

When the regulation time ended, our boys’ soccer team was tied with Gulliver Academy 1-1. After a 2-1 lead in overtime, Gulliver scored 2 goals in the last 5 minutes to advance to the semi-finals. Our Falcons played a hard-fought game and should be proud of a great season!

Lauren Cioffi, Jensen Beach: In the Falcons’ 49-29 win in the District 14-5A semifinal against Northeast on Feb. 1, Cioffi put up 18 points and 17 rebounds as Jensen Beach would finish as the district runner-up.

Good news for college-bound athletes:
As of January 2023, standardized test scores are not required for all student-athletes who initially enroll full-time on or after August 1, 2023.
Among other requirements, college-bound student-athletes planning to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school are still required to have a 2.3 (DI)/2.2 (DII) grade point average in 16 NCAA-approved core-course units and provide proof of high school graduation.

Aerospace technology is a high-demand industry that produces aircraft, guided missiles, space vehicles, aircraft engines, propulsion units, and related parts. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses understanding and demonstrating the technological tools, machines, instruments, materials, processes, and systems in business and industry.

Student Government and Leadership will be pre-selling flowers for Valentine’s Day beginning Feb. 2nd – 8th during both lunches, and in the courtyard before school. Flowers will cost $2.00 each and will be delivered during 5th period on Tuesday, February 14th.
Please review your 23-24 school year registration cards with your parent/guardian and bring them back to school. Freshmen and Sophomore students will meet with guidance counselors beginning Tuesday, February 7th.
Just a friendly reminder when not feeling well: Please DO NOT use your cell phone to contact a parent or guardian. Our policy is to go to the clinic and then use that phone to arrange pick-up. While waiting, you can rest until a parent or emergency contact arrives for pick up.

PEP RALLY HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED! It will now be on Thursday, February 16th, celebrating our winter sports. The theme is superman vs. batman, seniors & sophomores will dress in black and yellow to represent Batman, and juniors and freshmen will wear red and blue to represent superman. Batman and superman symbols are welcomed. Let's see which side of the gym can be the most creative!!!!! Decorating the gym will take place for each class Thursday morning, Feb. 16th at 7:30 AM, so be sure to have your supplies ready.

2023 FSU Young Scholars Program:
Applications are open for the Florida State University Young Scholars Program (YSP). YSP is a six-week residential science and mathematics summer program for Florida high school juniors with significant potential for STEM careers. The program was developed in 1983 and is currently administered by the Office of STEM Teaching Activities in the College of Arts and Sciences. Florida State University covers tuition for every admitted student. The program will run from June 11 through July 22, 2023. The American Muslim Alliance of Florida ( AMAF ) Inc. has awarded scholarships to high school seniors of all races, religions, and creeds for the last 15 years. If you would like more information on this scholarship, please come to Guidance to pick up a packet.
The 2023 Hispanic Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications. They will stop accepting applications on February 15th at 8:00 PM. Every year the HSF selects 10,000 scholars to be awarded. To apply go to hsf.net
