There is a debate club meeting today (2/1) after school in Mrs. Seaboyer's room for anyone eligible and interested in attending the February tournament. You must have competed in 2 tournaments prior to this one to attend. The meeting lasts until 3:30.

Faherty scored both Falcon goals in a 2-1 victory over Somerset Academy-Canyons in a District 13-4A semifinal on Jan. 26 to send Jensen Beach to the championship match.

Tonight, the boys' basketball team is traveling to Jupiter Christian Highschool. The JV game is at 5:30 and the Varsity is at 7pm.
The Lady Falcons basketball team is hosting the Jaguars of Port Saint Lucie. The JV team starts their game at 6 and the Varsity will begin at 7:30. Come on by and cheer them on to another victory.

There's an upcoming debate tournament on February 26th. Only those who have attended TWO tournaments this year can compete. If you have attended two tournaments and are interested in going, please attend the debate meeting on Tuesday after school in Mrs. Seaboyer's room. It will last until 3:40.

Students who are 'Caught Reading' for enjoyment this week may be given a 'Caught Reading' ticket to enter in a drawing for a gift card to Barnes and Noble. All tickets should be brought to the media center and given to either Ms. Sheila or Mrs. Wintercorn. The second contest is a persuasive essay contest. The prompt is also based on the theme. ‘Persuade a publishing company to publish your book titled, Blast Off Into New Worlds. If you were to write a young adult book with this title, what summary would you use to persuade the publishers? Be sure to include your story’s “out-of-this-world” setting, plot, theme, and character(s). This minimum 250 word, maximum 500-word, summary must include a rebuttal. There is a mandatory girls lacrosse meeting for anyone playing this season. The meeting is this Thursday at 3:15 in the Media Center. Please be on time, we will be going over a lot of important info for this season and will last about 30 minutes.

This week is Celebrate Literacy Week. The theme is ‘Launch into Literacy: Blast Off Into New Worlds’. In honor of this theme, we will have 2 contests. The first is a “Caught Reading” contest. Students who are 'Caught Reading' for enjoyment this week may be given a 'Caught Reading' ticket to enter in a drawing for a gift card to Barnes and Noble. All tickets should be brought to the media center and given to either Ms. Sheila or Mrs. Wintercorn. The second contest is a persuasive essay contest. The prompt is also based on the theme. ‘Persuade a publishing company to publish your book titled, Blast Off Into New Worlds. If you were to write a young adult book with this title, what summary would you use to persuade the publishers? Be sure to include your story’s “out-of-this-world” setting, plot, theme, and character(s). This minimum 250 word, maximum 500-word, summary must include a rebuttal. The winner of this contest will also receive a gift card to Barnes and Noble. To see all parameters of this contest, please visit your Grade Level’s Google Classroom.”

Congratulations to Carolina O’Hara who won the district championship at her weight class on Friday. Sophia Gannascoli and Rachel Lohan finished 2nd in their weight classes and Amaya Robinson placed 3rd. 11 girls qualified for the regional championships this Thursday in Fort Myers.
Congratulations to the 2022 1A State Dual Champions! Our wrestling team went on to defeat every team at the Team State Championships this past weekend in Orlando. Jewel WIlliams, Ryan Duguay and Dylan Fox all got their 100th career win during this event. Way to go guys!

⚖️CELEBRATING CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS⚖️
In partnership with the Center for Constitutional Values' Scholarship Fund and the YMCA of The Treasure Coast, the Martin County School District conducted the seventh annual “Constitution Academic Competition” this week!
Teams of students from Jensen Beach, Martin County and South Fork high schools debated the U.S. Supreme Court case “Miller v. Alabama” before presiding judges - the Honorable Kathleen Roberts (19th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida), the Honorable William Roby (19th Judicial Circuit Court) and the Honorable Alan O. Forst (Fourth District Court of Appeal). The case addressed the constitutionality of enacting life sentences without parole for juveniles convicted of capital crimes.

Seniors, Grad Bash at Universal Studios & Island of Adventure is back! If you are interested in attending this once in a lifetime, SENIORS ONLY, after hours, theme park extravaganza, you must attend the informational meeting this Thursday Jan 13th, in the cafeteria at 7:45AM or 3:15PM. Permission slip packets will be distributed at the meeting and tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis. Grad Bash is a celebration you will not want to miss!

Wrestling team won the 1A Region 4 dual meet this past Thursday. Malichai won his match by pin to ensure Jensen’s team win. Jensen defeated Somerset Academy and Cardinal Gibbons to head to the State dual meet they will go to tomorrow. Please congratulate the boys on their epic win.
Tonight, the girls' soccer team is hosting Centennial High School. It is Senior Night, so stop by and cheer the girls on and celebrate the seniors' hard work.

Fire rescue has cleared our building we have our power and all system are up and running . We are ready for all of our students to return and begin learning .#Itagreat2BaFalcon
MCSD Board Alert: JBHS is currently experiencing a campus-wide power outage this morning. Maintenance is on-site and has determined with FPL that there is an issue with a nearby power pole. Breakfast is being served to students in the courtyard. Parents have been notified and assured that updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
