"A shout-out to Chef Sesta for teaching me a bit of what I will be looking forward to," William shared. "As well as Mrs. Sanzhez, Mrs. Aronoff, Mr. Clynes, Coach Hawkins, Mrs. James, Mr. Crelin, Mr. Lubinski, and everyone else who has helped me along the way and believed I could do great things in the future. I will miss Martin County and everyone in it. Especially the ones who have put up with me for so long."
William plans to attend IRSC - Indian River State College and study Culinary Management.

🍎LEAVING A LEGACY🍎
Last week, Superintendent Michael Maine and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of Stuart Middle School Mr. Peter Erwig.
Mr. Erwig has been an outstanding science educator in the Martin County School District for 30 years! He helps students reach their full potential and truly embodies the District's mission to educate ALL students for success. Throughout his 30-year career at MCSD, Mr. Erwig has taught Physical Education to students at J.D. Parker Elementary, coached golf at Jensen Beach High School and cross country at Martin County High School. He has also spent some of his summers sharing his love of science at the Environmental Studies Council Center.
Choosing to retire was a hard decision for Mr. Erwig, but he looks forward to spending more time traveling to visit his daughters and teaching golf. Thank you, Mr. Erwig, for your dedication to your students for these last 30 years!

"Mr. Tipping is special because his classes are very fun; he makes math enjoyable," grateful student Victoria Garcia shared. "He also encourages all of us to try, even if we don't understand it. Before Mr.Tipping, I viewed math in a really negative way, but after his class, I have a much more positive view on math. He's the best!"

🔬STEM SUPERSTAR🔬
Congratulations to Martin County High School's Nira Goyal, who took 2nd place in the Plant Category at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Dallas, TX, last week!
More than 1500 students from dozens of countries competed at ISEF. More than 600 individual and team awards are presented every year at ISEF. Grand Awards are presented in each of the 21 ISEF categories: 1st Award: $5,000; 2nd Award: $2,000; 3rd Award: $1,000; 4th Award: $500.
Nira was one of 85 representatives to go to ISEF from Florida and one of 22 who walked away from ISEF as a Finalist!
Congratulations, Nira! We are so proud of you!

"Señor Colon is so special to us because he's an amazing teacher, and he helps us so much and actually cares about us," grateful students Aryela Gonzalez and Jordyn Sayre shared. "Anytime we say hi to him, or even good morning, he's always in such a good mood. He is one of our favorite teachers! The fourth period is our favorite period because that's when we have Señor Colon! We are praying that we get him next year for Spanish 2."

🍽NOURISHING ALL STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS🍽
Can you believe summer is just around the corner?! During the Summer Break, the Martin County School District will continue to nourish all students for success!
Our Food & Nutrition Services Department will continue to offer free meals to children aged 18 and under during the summer months with no income restrictions. Breakfasts and lunches will be served starting May 30 at specific locations.

"I’ve been the Director of Events and Vice President of the National Honor Society for the past two years, respectively and co-president of CODA (Community of Developing Artists)."
Avery plans to attend the University of Central Florida and major in Health Sciences, hoping to become an Occupational Therapist.

This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Martin County High School senior Camden Carregal!
"Cami is the NHS President, Varsity Cheer Captain, SGA officer, and member of HOSA and the Nursing Program," proud mom Kelly shared. "Cami was also a Joe Kordick Youth Character Award Winner. She is very dedicated to the healthcare industry and has earned her Certified Nursing Assistant certification through the MCHS medical academy...She’s very thankful for Mrs. French and Mrs. Sapienza for all their help in the nursing program."
Camden plans to attend Florida State University Honors Program in the fall and major in Biomedical Science.
